Do I have to have a web site to join?

Yes, you must have a web site from which you link to us.

What are your commission rates?

We have a two tier commission structure. We pay 10% on the first tier, and 2% on the second tier on orders that are billed to and shipped to addresses in the United States or Canada.

What does that mean?

It means if you send us a visitor who buys, you get a 10% commission. If you (A) refer someone who becomes an affiliate (B), when they refer a visitor (C) who buys, they (B) will receive a 10% commission and you (A) will receive 2% of the sale.

Example: Joe is an affiliate. Joe refers Bill who buys. Joe gets a 10% commission on Bill's purchase. Then Bill becomes an affiliate too, and he refers Sandy. Sandy buys. Bill gets a 10% commission on Sandy's purchase. Joe gets a 2% commission on Sandy's purchase too.

What is the price range of the items you sell?

It varies but tends to be $20 to $400; our average order is over $100.

Can I link to specific products?

Absolutely. We have instructions on how to do that and we encourage it.

How often do you pay commissions?

Monthly. Keep in mind we have a 30 Day Money Back Gurantee. So to accommodate returns we will retain commissions until orders have been delivered for 30 days. We do this to safeguard against fraud. Our return rate is very low and we'd like to keep it that way!

What's your minimum payment threshold?

$25. Each month when total commissions due to you are $25 or more we send you a check. If it's less, we roll it over to the next period until your accrued but unpaid commisions reach $25.

How do you track commissions?

We use My Affiliate Program (MYAP), a proven and reliable system to track sales and commissions in real-time. You will be provided with access to your own account and related stats at all times.

How many "return days" do you track cookies for?

One full year.

What are "return days"?

Return days is the amount of time after you send a visitor to us that we pay you commissions on if that particular visitor completes a purchase.

When a visitor clicks through on your affiliate link and comes to our site, MYAP writes a cookie to their computer. If and when they make a purchase at our site, we check that cookie on their computer for your affiliate code and when they first visited our site through your link. If a visitor you send buys from us within 365 days of that first visit we pay you a commission.

Merchants that don't offer return days only pay commissions if someone clicks through from your site and buys right away. That's not fair, especially with more expensive items because people take time to think such purchases over. So we give you the opportunity to earn a commission for one full year on each visitor you send us.

I live outside the United States or Canada. Can I still join your program?

Yes. Our main focus is on selling goods to customers in the US and Canada. If your site attracts visitors from those countries then you will be eligible. Please note we do not pay commissions on orders shipped outside the US and Canada.

Can I receive commissions on purchases I make through my own affiliate links?

Yes. You earn commissions on every valid purchase made through your affiliate links.

Do you provide banner links?

Yes.

Do you provide text links?

Yes. In fact, we encourage text links as they tend to have a much higher response rate.

Can I link to individual items?

Yes. We also highly recommend you do so.

What if I refer someone who places his/her order by phone?

We ask people who call to tell us how they heard about our site. On your site you should encourage your visitors to tell us how they found you. About 95% of our orders are placed online.

How else do you support me?

Aside from banner and text links we're available to answer your questions and to critique your site in order to help you achieve more. We also have affiliate marketing resources to help you.

The bottom line is we want you to earn as much as possible, because that's good for you and good for us (plus a lot of people will have some very nice sailboat models)!

Can I promote your program with email?

You may promote our program only with opt-in email. Message recipients must have explicitly ("opted-in") given you permission to send them email prior to you sending any email relating to your involvement in our affiliate program. You must not use bulk (aka "spam") email to promote our program. We have a zero tolerance policy. Anyone who violates this will have all their commissions revoked and their account terminated. When in doubt, forward a copy of the message to us for review first.
